Vision and Focus

This play area was due to be updated after Kensington and Chelsea’s 10 year plan strategy to replace and update every play area in the borough every 10 years.

The community were involved with this project from start to finish with HAGS and were able to have an input of what they wanted in the play area. A vision for this play area was the focus on 'The Great British Getaway', which the child would imagine that they are on a steam train riding aboard the Gare Du Nord through the British countryside seeing farm animals. For example cows and sheep, whilst viewing the landscape and seeing castles on the hilltops.

Features in this play area had maximised the play value such as plenty of ancillary play equipment items like taking tubes, play panels and fossils in the sand.

Bright and colourful play areas

The key features in the play area bring in an element of excitement and inclusivity. The careful thought-out design was designed to match the local surroundings. Two main bright and colourful play areas are separated for both toddlers and juniors to enjoy. Whilst key features allow this play area to be accessible for all children.
