Murray House Play Area

HAGS were approached by Runnymede Borough Council to undertake refurbishment works at Murray House Play area. The play area comprised of a multiplay unit, which although over 15 years old was still structurally sound, a set of swings and a number of benches and bins. HAGS proposed that the multiplay unit would be repainted and the existing plywood panels would be replaced with super durable HDPE.  The swing frames would be repainted and the benches and bins refurbished, with new surfacing laid around the benches and gate.

This refurbishment combined a major improvement in the look of the area with reduced maintenance through the use of the latest technology materials (all compliant with EN1176 and EN1177) and the addition of eco mulch surfacing to the bench and pedestrian gate areas to prevent surface erosion. The option of a refurbishment enabled Runnymede BC to carry out the work within current maintenance budgets without having to look for additional capital funding. Work on site was completed within just 2 weeks and the results are stunning - the units look better than new and are good for another 10 years at least.
