Roundwood

The London Borough of Brent aimed to rejuvenate Roundwood park play area, a bustling destination boasting green expanses, outdoor gyms, cafes, and basketball courts. Seeking to draw in more visitors, they selected HAGS to create unique designs tailored specifically to the borough and the broader London community.

Opting for a nature-inspired and inclusive play area, HAGS conceptualised a play area harmonising with Roundwood park's ambiance. HAGS constructed a custom centrepiece multi-play unit with an integrated net climber for junior children, alongside a bespoke nature unit for infants, both adorned with leaf-themed roofs.

Reviving a classic, we reintroduced the bicycle roundabout, originally designed four decades ago, with added junior seating for younger children's enjoyment. Additionally, we imported play cubes from the USA to enhance inclusivity, offering opportunities for climbing and exploration.

Complementing these features were a Tornado Spinner, Seesaw Swingo, Leaf Rubbing posts, and play panels. To engage the community, HAGS coordinated an open day with the LB of Brent and local councillors, distributing goody bags to young attendees.

The project's success was a testament to the collaboration of all involved parties.
